Formerly respectable Sydney based producer Luminarsi presents an EP of questionable crossover electronic pop. Features the 'genre defining' Waronwa Psycrunkk, a somewhat aggressive Booty Bhangra version of Rihanna's absurdist supermegaultrahit Umbrella, the expletive laden electronic dub 'Rock Out With Your Glock Out (bang shotta dub)' and an unfortunate pisstake of a certain Dutch techno offender. Widely regarded as the first white suburban male to directly rip off MIA, this release from Luminarsi will unfortunately become an indelible part of the history of electronic pop music. --- I asked my then girlfriend to write a proper press release, and asked her to make it as disdainful as possible. She did, and I completely took it personally. Mea culpa. The EP was inspired by a conversation with TJ Eckleberg, who told me me 'f*ck up when you're young. f*ck up and f*ck up big'. I'd only heard the song Umbrella by Rihanna from people singing it at me, not from hearing the original version, so I made this cover to create the version I'd been imagining. I was way off the mark. This is probably the only place you can see the once-infamous Luminarsi ambigram online, which otherwise only still exists on one inch badge pins attached to decades-old JB Hifi lanyards in the bottoms of junk drawers somewhere. Some people still like the Umbrella cover I guess.
